How this works

Only paid work

Every job exists because a buyer asked for it. The one exception is your first sample, which Montu pays for itself.

Other workers check

Two other workers check each submission. They do not see who you are or what the other said. If they disagree or are not sure, a third person checks. If that does not settle it, a Montu staff member decides.

Spot checks

We pick about 5 in every 100 approved submissions to check again.

Your price

Each job has one price, worked out from how long the job takes. Jobs where you travel to a place pay more per hour. Your price is fixed when you press Start and does not change after, even if prices or exchange rates change.

If a buyer says no

On jobs paid when a buyer accepts: if your work broke the instructions, it is not paid and we tell you why. If the instructions changed, you are paid in full. If you followed the instructions and the buyer did not buy, you are paid the reduced rate shown on the job.

Appeals

Every unpaid rejection shows the reason and has an Appeal button. A Montu staff member reads every appeal.

Payouts

Money owed to you is sent when it reaches the payout threshold for your country. Your first sample is sent as soon as you submit.
